South African President's Economic Advisor Kenneth Kremer recently stated in an interview with Xinhua News Agency that the BRICS mechanism is inspiring more countries to come together and work towards building a more just and inclusive world order.
The 15th meeting of BRICS leaders is about to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa. Kramer said that the BRICS countries have been committed to improving the level of trade and cooperation among member countries and have successfully achieved this goal. He said that BRICS countries strengthen cooperation in the spirit of openness, inclusiveness and win-win cooperation, which will help promote economic recovery after the COVID-19 epidemic.
Kremer noted that the expansion issue to be discussed at this year's BRICS summit has received high attention from the international community. He said that many countries regard the BRICS cooperation mechanism as an important mechanism for participating in world affairs and strengthening economic and trade cooperation, and have applied to join.
He stated that many "global southern" countries seek to unite and work towards building a more just and inclusive world order. "The BRICS countries are inspiring many countries to come together to advance this vision."
He emphasized, "All countries applying to join should fulfill the mission of the BRICS countries to promote common economic development and build a more equitable world political and economic system."
Kramer said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between South China and China 25 years ago, bilateral relations have continuously developed and become the main export markets for many products. In the future, South Africa and China should build on their existing strong relationship, strengthen cooperation in manufacturing and supply chains, and expand the scope of commodity trade.
