In 2014, Henan Civil Aviation Development Investment Co., Ltd. acquired 35% equity of Luxembourg Cargo Airlines, successfully building the Zhengzhou Luxembourg "Air Silk Road", and a "Silk Road Eagle" connecting the world took off. From the initial two flights per week to a maximum of 14 flights per week, the route currently covers 15 cities worldwide, including London, Chicago, and Milan.
The opening of this route greatly assists the development of related logistics enterprises. Guangzhou Langtian Supply Chain Co., Ltd. is a deep partner of Luxembourg Cargo Airlines and an international logistics service provider for Pinduoduo's North American e-commerce platform Temu. Shang Liang, Chairman of Guangzhou Langtian Supply Chain Co., Ltd., who is currently negotiating business in Zhengzhou, said that the company's business growth is due to the dense and guaranteed regular cargo flights of Luxembourg Cargo Airlines. At the same time, Zhengzhou Airport is located in a wide transportation network with convenient customs clearance. Goods are collected and distributed from China to Zhengzhou, and then transported to European countries through Luxembourg Cargo Airlines for customs clearance, which can be completed within three days, meeting the demand for timeliness and reliability of cross-border e-commerce goods.

"Zhengzhou has achieved full chain electronicization of air port transportation vehicle declaration, manifest transmission, data change, and release instructions, and achieved" instant pass "through checkpoints through the application of QR codes and intelligent locks." Yuan Kai, Deputy Director of Logistics Monitoring Department of Zhengzhou Airport Customs, said that in order to improve collection and distribution efficiency, the airport customs has also set up a "one-stop service window" to provide "7 x 24 hours" customs clearance services. For high-value vacuum packaged goods such as chips, integrated circuits, and precision instruments, a non-invasive inspection mode mainly based on machine inspection is adopted.
At present, Zhengzhou has established a one hour intercity railway metropolitan area, a 300 kilometer expressway coverage area, an 800 kilometer high-speed rail area, and an aviation network covering major economies around the world. Leveraging its aviation advantages, it has laid out aviation preference industry clusters such as intelligent terminals, precision machinery, and biomedicine. In 2022, the electronic information industry output value of Zhengzhou Airport Economic Comprehensive Experimental Zone exceeded 500 billion yuan.
In this win-win linkage, the Chinese market has become the main driving force for the operating performance and profit growth of Luxembourg Cargo Airlines. According to data from Luxembourg Cargo Airlines, the cargo volume on the Zhengzhou route of Luxembourg Cargo Airlines in 2017 was 10 times that of 2014. As a result, Luxembourg Cargo Airlines turned losses into profits, achieving a net profit of 122 million US dollars and rising from 9th place to 5th place among global all cargo companies. In 2022, the company's revenue was 5.1 billion US dollars and net profit was 1.6 billion US dollars, making it the most profitable year in the company's history.

During the epidemic, the Zhengzhou Luxembourg route not only did not stop or cut off flights, but also increased flights to provide support for the transportation of special materials between China and Europe. During this period, 500000 medical surgical masks and 4500 medical protective clothing, as well as other epidemic prevention materials, carrying the message "friendship knows no borders and the world is like neighbors", flew from Zhengzhou to Luxembourg on a full cargo plane.
Not only that, this "Silk Road Eagle" also successfully completed the transportation task of oversized and unconventional sports equipment for the Beijing Winter Olympics, and once transported an indivisible 43 ton "Big Mac" equipment from Europe to Henan, timely ensuring the upgrading needs of the core power supply points of the central and eastern power grid in China.
When it comes to the future of the company, Zelun said that in order to better develop and combine with the development trends of the global aviation industry, Luxembourg Cargo Airlines has started investing in projects aimed at producing second-generation and third-generation civil aviation fuels.

According to the global aviation industry's goal of achieving net zero emissions on international routes by 2050, in June this year, cargo planes on the Zhengzhou Luxembourg route were refueled with sustainable aviation fuel provided by China Aviation Fuel Group Co., Ltd., embarking on the path of exploring green and sustainable development.
According to China Aviation Oil South China Blue Sky Henan Branch, as a low-carbon alternative to traditional aviation oil, sustainable aviation fuel uses waste animal and plant fats, oils, urban household waste, and agricultural and forestry waste as raw materials.
