CCTV News: The State Council Information Office held a press conference on July 17th, and spokesperson for the National Bureau of Statistics, Fu Linghui, stated that with the economic recovery improving, stable employment policies continuing to take effect, the labor market becoming more active, and the overall employment situation improving.
In the first half of 2023, 6.78 million new urban jobs were created nationwide, an increase of 240000 compared to the same period last year. The labor participation rate of urban population aged 16 and above has steadily increased, the surveyed unemployment rate in urban areas has decreased, and the employment situation has remained stable. At the end of the second quarter, there were 18.705 million rural migrant workers, a year-on-year increase of 3.2%.
