Islamabad, August 10th (Xinhua) - The Central Bank of Pakistan announced the issuance of commemorative coins for the 10th anniversary of the launch of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor on August 10th.
The Bank of Pakistan announced on the same day that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor has made significant contributions to Pakistan's infrastructure construction and economic development over the past 10 years. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the launch of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, the Pakistani government has decided to issue commemorative coins with a face value of 100 rupees. Starting from the 11th, the public can exchange the commemorative coin at the counter of the Bank of Pakistan's banking service company.
The announcement states that the commemorative coin is made of a 3:1 ratio of copper nickel alloy, with a circular shape, a diameter of 30 millimeters, and a single weight of 13.5 grams. The commemorative coin has the English words "Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor" on the front, and not only the English words "From Vision to Reality" on the back, but also the words "China Pakistan Economic Corridor" in Urdu, Chinese, and English.
The announcement states that there is a five pointed star in the center on both sides of the commemorative coin, with symbols of the national flags of Pakistan and China inside each star. On the back of the commemorative coin, there are Arabic numerals 2013 and 2023, depicting the 10 years of high-quality development of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor.
The China Pakistan Economic Corridor is an important pilot project of the the Belt and Road Initiative. Since its launch in 2013, China and Pakistan have adhered to the principle of consultation, joint construction, and sharing to promote corridor construction, forming a number of early gains, adding new impetus to Pakistan's economic and social development, and laying a solid foundation for regional connectivity and integration.
