The 2023 National Cybersecurity Awareness Week presents four major characteristics
On August 31, Beijing, People's Daily reported that at the press conference of the 2023 National Cybersecurity Promotion Week held today, Gao Lin, Director of the Cybersecurity Coordination Bureau of the Central Cyberspace Administration, stated that the 2023 National Cybersecurity Promotion Week mainly has the following four characteristics:
The second is to highlight the purpose of serving the people. Responding to concerns and hot topics is the duty of Cybersecurity Week, and it is also a concrete practice of implementing "cybersecurity for the people, and cybersecurity relies on the people". In response to the key information infrastructure protection, personal information protection, data security governance, telecommunications network fraud, and youth network protection issues that General Secretary attaches great importance to and the people are highly concerned about, full consideration has been given to the topic setting, link planning, and activity design of this year's Network Security Week, and targeted promotional activities have been carried out. For example, at this year's Cybersecurity Expo, key news websites, short videos, and live streaming platforms will be organized to conduct guided promotions on-site, and network security cloud quiz activities will be planned and carried out. The participating masses will have the opportunity to receive rewards. In addition, we will also conduct a collection of network security micro videos with the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, and organize corresponding platforms to plan interactive activities. By going deep into the streets and alleys, directly reaching towns and villages, promoting the concept of cybersecurity, popularizing cybersecurity knowledge, and promoting cybersecurity skills, we aim to enhance participation, knowledge, popularization, and interactivity, and promote the improvement of cybersecurity awareness and skills throughout society.
The third is to highlight technical characteristics. The situation of network security is constantly changing, new technologies and applications are rapidly iterating, and new situations and problems are emerging one after another. "Unknown" is far greater than "known", making network security have distinct technical, professional, and cutting-edge characteristics. How to prevent potential risks while actively utilizing them is an important challenge facing the field of network security. All along, the main forum of Cybersecurity has been positioned as the "Technology Summit Forum", with the aim of allowing experts to sit together and exchange ideas on cutting-edge technologies, collision sparks, and allowing audiences to have tangible gains after listening. For example, in response to the highly concerned issue of generative artificial intelligence since the beginning of this year, the Central Cyberspace Administration, together with relevant departments, has carried out a lot of work to coordinate development and security, and formulated and issued the Interim Measures for the Management of Generative Artificial Intelligence Services. Therefore, this year's Cybersecurity Summit Forum will also focus on the theme of artificial intelligence, and discuss in depth how to promote development and ensure security around the latest situation, enhancing pertinence and practicality.
The fourth is to highlight distinctive themes. The Cybersecurity Week event is jointly organized by ten departments including the Central Cyberspace Administration. In addition to the opening ceremony and main forum on September 11th, theme days such as Campus Day, Telecommunications Day, Rule of Law Day, Finance Day, Youth Day, and Personal Information Protection Day will be held from September 12th to 17th. In order to further enrich the content of the activities, highlight thematic and collaborative aspects, and convey the concept of "big security" through "small incisions", this year the Central Cyberspace Administration led the organization of seven cybersecurity weekly forums, which were held in a distributed manner between various theme dates. At the same time, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, the People's Bank of China, the All China Federation of Trade Unions, the All China Women's Federation and other jointly organized departments will also arrange the Telecom Day theme forum and the industrial Internet security sub forum, the rule of law day theme forum and the network and data security, net network security supervision sub forum, as well as the financial network security forum, personal information protection day theme activities, etc., to achieve each theme day, each day must have a theme, activities, which is also a major feature of this year.
