Typhoon Tai Li, the fourth typhoon of this year, generated in the South China Sea at 8:00 am on July 15th and is expected to make landfall and affect the southern region of China. Affected by it, from July 16 to 19, there will be rainstorm to heavy rainstorm in some areas along the coast of Guangdong, western southern Guangxi, most of Hainan, central southern Guizhou, eastern Yunnan, southern Fujian, etc., Xijiang River, Beijiang River, Dongjiang River, Hanjiang River and coastal rivers in the the Pearl River basin, Nandu River, Changhua River, Wanquan River in Hainan, Jiulong River in Fujian, and some small and medium-sized rivers in the rainstorm area may have floods above the alarm level.
The Ministry of Water Resources has fully activated the mechanism for flood control during the critical period, closely monitoring the direction of typhoon movement. On July 15 and 16, the Ministry of Water Resources held continuous discussions to analyze and judge the situation of typhoon rainstorm and flood, and to study and deploy the prevention and response work.
At 16:00 on July 15, the Ministry of Water Resources launched the Level IV emergency response for flood prevention in Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Guizhou and Yunnan provinces that may be affected by Typhoon No. 4 "Taili", sent three working groups to Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan to guide the typhoon rainstorm and flood prevention work, and issued a notice requiring relevant regions to closely monitor the wind direction of the typhoon, strengthen the monitoring of rain and water conditions, strengthen on duty duty and consultation, rolling forecast and timely release early warning information; Scientific and precise scheduling and application of flood control engineering, fully utilizing the favorable conditions of low water level and limited water storage in the current reservoir, effectively blocking floods and reducing peaks; Carry out inspections and defenses of reservoirs, embankments, and other projects in areas with heavy rainfall, promptly handle any potential hazards, and ensure safe operation; We will focus on preventing floods and mountain floods in small and medium-sized rivers, strengthen the control of hazardous areas, advance the transfer of threatened individuals, and ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
The water conservancy departments of Guangdong and Hainan provinces and the the Pearl River Water Conservancy Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources have launched the Level IV emergency response for flood prevention, and have made various defense preparations in an orderly manner.
