Taking Multiple Measures to Promote Student Mental Health (People's Current Review) Work | Students | Mental Health
As an important component of health, mental health is a crucial cornerstone of life achievement and happiness. Nowadays, mental health issues have gradually extended from adult and occupational groups to adolescent groups, and are showing a trend of "younger age" development. Recently, the topic of student mental health has attracted social attention.
Strengthening mental health education for adolescents has become a consensus in the current society as a whole. Some primary schools set up psychological commissioners in their classes to create a confident and loving campus atmosphere; Some middle schools advocate the concept of "positive education", transforming crisis intervention into educational opportunities; Some universities discover problems through psychological counseling and offer lectures to teachers in colleges with tense guidance relationships; In recent years, various regions and schools have actively explored and promoted student mental health work, promoting the continuous improvement of student mental health literacy. It should also be noted that with the development of the economy and society, the environment for student growth is constantly changing, and the mental health problems of students are becoming more and more prominent. Health education, teaching staff, and collaborative education mechanisms between family, school, and society still need to be strengthened.
The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposes to "attach importance to mental health and mental health." Promoting the physical and mental health and comprehensive development of students is a major issue of public concern and social concern. Not long ago, the Ministry of Education and 17 other departments jointly issued the "Special Action Plan for Strengthening and Improving the Mental Health Work of Students in the New Era", which clearly stated that "promoting mental health through five educations simultaneously". Not long ago, the Ministry of Education, together with relevant departments, held a national video conference on student mental health work, deploying further efforts to improve national student mental health work, and proposing to "explore the establishment of a provincial-level, city centered, county based, and school based graded management system for student mental health.". Looking towards the future, we should place more emphasis on student mental health work.
Promote the daily management of mental health education, guide students to care about themselves and accept themselves. To promote the mental health of students, the foundation is first and foremost that mental health issues are given sufficient attention in all aspects. At the same time, the management of mental health education should gradually achieve full staff, full process, and all-round. Currently, some students may experience mental health problems as early as the basic education stage after entering university. Therefore, it is necessary to deepen the understanding of the physiological and psychological characteristics and growth issues of students of different ages, carry out targeted mental health education, connect various stages of primary, secondary and tertiary education, and continuously improve the positive psychological qualities of students.
Strengthen home school collaboration and reduce the risk of psychological and behavioral problems among students. A survey shows that the frequency of offline activities and exercise habits of students are positively correlated with their learning interest and confidence expectations. This requires paying attention to the balance of work and rest in student learning, and eliminating psychological fatigue in learning. On the one hand, schools should assign homework and organize exams in a reasonable and standardized manner, attach importance to diversified campus physical exercise, and flexibly arrange extracurricular club activities. On the other hand, parents should pay attention to their children's comprehensive development, help them reduce learning pressure, promote positive parent-child interaction, and enhance their awareness and ability to deal with their children's psychological problems.
Encourage and support peer communication, and assist students in building peer support networks. The emotional connection established through long-term communication and exchange in peer communication has a positive effect on promoting students' emotional health and personality improvement. Currently, some primary and secondary school students make fewer friends with their peers due to factors such as academic pressure and family education concepts; Some college students also face social lag and social anxiety. In this regard, it is important to pay attention to the impact of peer communication on the mental health development of students, guide and play the positive effects of peer relationships correctly, teach students the skills of peer communication, help them establish peer trust, and form positive self-concept.
Adolescence is an important period of growth in life. Strengthening and improving the mental health work of students in the new era is conducive to implementing the fundamental task of moral education and adhering to the educational concept of health first. With a sense of mission that is highly responsible for the future of the country and the nation, and a sense of responsibility that is always at ease, taking multiple measures to promote the mental health of students can create a good environment for the healthy growth of young people.
