Taiwan Affairs Office: Willing to continue providing assistance for the resumption of Taiwan's agricultural and fishery products entering the mainland, including lychees and other agricultural and fishery products
Spokesperson of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, Zhu Fenglian, stated on June 20 that due to the detection of quarantine pests such as the ocean buttocks scale in lychees imported from Taiwan multiple times, in order to prevent the risk of plant epidemics, mainland customs will suspend the import of lychees from Taiwan from September 20, 2021.Recently, Taitung County has provided information on the rectification of some businesses. On the basis of comprehensive evaluation of relevant rectification measures, the General Administration of Customs has decided to resume the import of lychee from Taiwan starting from June 20th. The lychee exported to mainland China must come from registered packaging factories and orchards.
We uphold the concept of "one family on both sides of the strait", always respect, care, and benefit Taiwan compatriots, and are willing to work together with relevant parties on the island to continue to provide assistance for the resumption of the import of Taiwan's agricultural and fishery products into the mainland.
