Joachim Karlsson, CEO and President of Sweden's Enwat Group, recently stated in an interview with Xinhua News Agency that China has left a deep impression in pursuing green, circular, and low-carbon development, and is worthy of long-term cooperation with foreign enterprises in smart and sustainable urban development.
Karlsson highly appreciates the efforts of Chinese partners in using intelligent garbage collection technology, and believes that China is accelerating its green development goals in line with its words and actions. Looking back on years of cooperation with China, Karlsson stated that he had a deeper impression of the "speed of China" and that "the speed of China's development and application of new technologies is so fast.".
Enwate Group, an innovative waste treatment technology giant headquartered in Sweden, is the inventor of pneumatic waste collection systems. This system transfers the entire garbage collection process underground and replaces manual garbage collection, significantly reducing transportation inputs and carbon emissions related to garbage. This technology has been adopted in smart projects in multiple cities and hospitals in China.
It is reported that innovative garbage collection systems adopt cutting-edge technology, which can effectively reduce the amount of garbage, make the urban environment cleaner and healthier, and make urban development more sustainable.
Karlsson stated that Enwate Group is committed to long-term development in the Chinese market. The group started its business in China 15 years ago and has currently promoted over 70 cooperation projects in mainland China and Hong Kong. In 2022, the number of projects in China by the group increased by 70% year-on-year, and the revenue from the Chinese market accounted for approximately 20% of Enwate Group's global total revenue.
Karlsson firmly believes that green ecological goals are increasingly valued in the healthcare sector, which is also one of the fastest-growing business areas for Enwate Group in China recently.
At the same time, Enwate Group is also promoting the upgrade of 5G communication technology and data analysis research, making its garbage collection system more intelligent. "We are at the beginning of a good opportunity, and strengthening cooperation with China is of great benefit to both sides," said Carlson.
Karlsson, who has visited China six times, holds a deep friendship towards China. He said, "I enjoy Chinese history and culture, as well as communication and exchange with Chinese partners. I am very happy to contribute to China's sustainable development."
