Surprise Sunak!, "Devil Nurse" sentenced nurse | Lucy Wright | Devil
According to foreign media reports, on August 21st local time, a judge ruled on the murder of 7 babies and attempted murder of 6 other babies by British nurse Lucy Lightby, sentencing her to life imprisonment.
According to Reuters, 33 year old Lucy Lightby is the most murdered child serial killer in modern British history.
According to previous reports, between June 2015 and June 2016, Lucy Lightby murdered seven infants at the Countess Chester Hospital in England by injecting them with air, insulin, or overfeeding.
Reuters reported that Judge James Goss, who was in charge of the case, said, "This is a cruel and carefully planned... child murder involving the smallest and most vulnerable children... your actions are full of almost sadistic malice... you have no regrets... there is no factor in reducing the sentence in this case... you will spend the rest of your life in prison."
Judge James Goss sentenced Lucy Lightby to life imprisonment without parole. The parents of the victimized baby cried uncontrollably while listening to the verdict.
The police have not yet determined Lucy Letterby's motive for the crime, and Judge Goss said that only Letterby himself knows the reason for her crime.
According to The Independent, sentencing to life imprisonment is very rare in the UK and is the harshest punishment in the criminal justice system. Previously, only three women had been sentenced to this sentence, including serial killers Myra Hedley, Rosemary West, and Joanna Dennis.
According to Reuters, Lucy Letterby refused to leave prison to hear her verdict.
In court, the victim's parents recounted the trauma and "unbearable pain" caused by Lucy Letterby.
A victim's father said, "Lucy Letterby has ruined our lives. My anger and hatred towards her will never disappear."
Another victim's mother expressed that she hopes Letterby can live a long life and suffer every day because of her actions.
According to The Independent, British Prime Minister Sunak believes that Lucy Lightby's refusal to attend the verdict is a "cowardly" expression.
Sunak said, "I believe that those who commit such terrible crimes do not face the victims and do not hear the impact of their crimes on the victims and their families, which is a sign of cowardice."
Sunak stated that the government is considering amending the law to force criminals to attend sentencing hearings.
According to Reuters, the police are currently investigating 4000 other hospitalized cases of neonatology patients who have worked for Letterby to determine if there are any other victims.
