With the arrival of summer, cultural and tourism consumption across the country is rising in sync with the trend of "flying" following performances to travel, "night economy" igniting smoke and fire, and "cool goods" selling well. More and more people choose to pursue their love and seek "poetry and distant places" in the midst of summer.
"Summer has always been the peak season for tourism, and the national cultural and tourism consumption season is also a key factor in promoting consumption throughout the year." Miao Muyang, Director of the Industry Development Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, stated at the 2023 National Summer Cultural and Tourism Consumption Season main event recently held, that through a strong cultural flavor and full of fireworks, we can better meet the needs of the people for a better life, seize the opportunity to promote steady growth in cultural and tourism consumption, and promote high-quality development of the cultural and tourism industries.
Miao Muyang introduced that according to preliminary statistics, over 3000 cultural and tourism consumption promotion activities will be held in various regions in July and August this year, covering various forms of activities such as drama festivals, summer festivals, exhibition seasons, food camping, intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, and themed markets, bringing fun and interesting holiday cultural and tourism experiences to residents and tourists.
Summer is the traditional peak season of the performance market, and various regions will hold diverse and exciting performance activities to meet the viewing needs of different groups of people. According to the monitoring of the National Ticketing Information Collection Platform of the China Performance Industry Association, as of June 30th, there were over 8000 summer performance projects for sale on major ticketing platforms across the country from July 1st to August 31st, with 37000 shows on sale. Among them, there were approximately 300 performances at large-scale concerts and music festivals.
"The high-quality stage art repertoire launched by professional theaters, as well as various immersive and interactive performances launched by small theaters and new spaces for performances, large-scale concerts, music festivals, and tourism performances in various scenic areas will all become hot topics for summer cultural and tourism consumption," said a representative of the China Performance Industry Association.
In addition to watching a variety of performances, museums have become a popular check-in spot for many parents to take their children on summer trips. Faced with the scorching summer heat and explosive popularity, museums across the country have launched unique services to welcome the summer visit craze.
Recently, the National Museum of China added a sunshade ceiling for the entrance passage, took various measures to shorten the queue time for visitors, achieved rapid entry, and extended the opening time of the day; Seventeen key museums in Shanghai, including the Shanghai Museum and the World Expo Museum, are particularly open on summer weekend evenings. Citizens can check in on popular exhibitions such as "Empirical China - Songze Liangzhu Civilization Archaeology Special Exhibition" and "River and Sea Treasures - Scientific Archaeology of the Second Ancient Ship at the Yangtze River Estuary" on a midsummer night, experiencing a comprehensive "Museum Wonderful Night" of "exhibition+activities+cultural and creative+social+life".
Whether it is fashionable or national style, China-Chic, colorful cultural and tourism activities will light up the hot summer.
