"Sula" Upgrade Red Alert! 121 trains suspended
The Central Meteorological Observatory issued a typhoon red warning at 6:00 am on August 31st:
The center of Typhoon Sula, the 9th typhoon of this year, moved into the northeast sea of the South China Sea on the evening of August 30th. It was located at 5 o'clock this morning on the sea surface about 330 kilometers southeast of Huilai, Guangdong, at 20.9 degrees north latitude and 118.5 degrees east longitude. The maximum wind force near the center was 17, and the lowest pressure at the center was 925 hPa. The radius of the seventh level wind circle was 220-250 kilometers, the radius of the tenth level wind circle was 130 kilometers, and the radius of the twelfth level wind circle was 70 kilometers.
It is expected that "Sula" will move towards the northwest direction at a speed of about 10 kilometers per hour, gradually approaching the coastal areas of eastern Guangdong, with a slow weakening in intensity. It will land along the coast from Huilai, Guangdong to Hong Kong from the afternoon to the night of September 1, and may also move towards the southwest direction near the coastal waters of eastern Guangdong.
Gale forecast: from 08:00 on August 31 to 08:00 on September 1, there will be 6-8 and 9-10 gusts in the Bashi Strait, the Taiwan Strait, the northeast of the South China Sea, the coastal areas of Fujian, the coastal areas of central and eastern Guangdong, the southern coastal areas of Taiwan Island, and the the Dongsha Islands. Among them, the wind in the waters west of the Bashi Strait, the waters in the northeast of the South China Sea, and the the Dongsha Islands will be 9-11, and the wind in some waters can reach 12-13. The wind in the sea near the "Sula" center will be 14-17 and above 17 gusts.
Precipitation forecast: From 08:00 on August 31 to 08:00 on September 1, there will be heavy to rainstorm in southeast Fujian, eastern Guangdong, central and southern Taiwan Island, and heavy rainstorm locally.

1. The government and relevant departments shall carry out emergency work for typhoon prevention and rescue in accordance with their responsibilities.
2. Water operations in relevant waters and passing ships should return to the port for shelter, strengthen port facilities, and prevent ships from anchoring, grounding, and collision.

Dangerous buildings should be evacuated in a timely manner. When the center of a typhoon passes by, the wind may decrease or remain stationary for a period of time. Remember that strong winds will suddenly hit, and you should continue to stay in a safe place to avoid the wind.
5. Relevant regions should pay attention to preventing mountain floods and geological disasters that may be caused by heavy rainfall.

Affected by Typhoon Sura No. 9, in order to ensure the safety of train operation, the railway department plans to suspend some trains operating on the Hangzhou Shenzhen Line, Beijing Hong Kong High Speed Railway, Guangzhou Shenzhen Intercity Railway, Guangzhou Shenzhen Hong Kong High Speed Railway, Guangzhou Shenzhen Intercity Railway, Beijing Kowloon Line and other lines.
