"Sula" made landfall in Zhuhai, Guangdong as a strong typhoon, at 3:30 am today
The Guangdong Provincial Meteorological Observatory reported that Typhoon Sula, the 9th typhoon of this year, made landfall along the coast of Jinwan District, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province at 3:30 am on the 2nd, with a maximum wind force of 14 near the center.
According to the forecast, "Sula" will move towards the southwest direction along the Guangdong coastline at a speed of 15 to 20 kilometers per hour, and its intensity will gradually weaken.
The Guangdong Provincial Flood, Drought, and Wind Prevention Headquarters announced that as of 10:00 on September 1st, more than 780000 people from hazardous areas have been transferred in advance in various parts of Guangdong Province. The Marine Warning Center of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area of the Ministry of Natural Resources issued a red wave warning at 22:00 on the 1st, indicating that there will be giant to raging waves ranging from 4 to 7 meters in the nearshore waters of central Guangdong.
The cross sea super project connecting Shenzhen and Zhongshan, the Shenzhong Passage, has been fully suspended and 2732 people have been evacuated. 211 construction workers were evacuated from the Huangmaohai Cross Sea Passage connecting Zhuhai and Jiangmen cities, and reinforcement was completed for large high-rise equipment, bridge erections, and other structures.
