CCTV News: The national college entrance examination will start on June 7th, 2023. This year, 12.91 million people have registered for the national college entrance examination, an increase of 980000 people compared to last year. There are a total of 7726 examination points and 345000 examination rooms nationwide, with 1.013 million invigilators deployed. On the morning of June 7th, there will be an exam for the Chinese language subject.
The subjects of the 2023 National College Entrance Examination will be Chinese, Mathematics, and Foreign Languages, concentrated from June 7th to 8th. Other subjects will be subject to the provincial college entrance examination model.

As of now, 29 provinces in China have launched new college entrance examination reforms. According to the actual situation in different regions, there are currently two selection modes for the new college entrance examination: "3+3" and "3+1+2". According to the principle of starting from the starting grade, the launch of the new college entrance examination plan in each region starts from the first year of high school enrollment in the autumn of that year, and the first examination and admission of the new college entrance examination mode will be conducted three years later.
This year, a total of 14 provinces have adopted the new college entrance examination model, including Zhejiang, Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Shandong, Hainan, Hebei, Liaoning, Jiangsu, Fujian, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, and Chongqing.

In 2024, seven provinces including Heilongjiang, Gansu, Jilin, Anhui, Jiangxi, Guizhou, and Guangxi will begin the first new college entrance examination.
Eight provinces, including Shanxi, Henan, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, Sichuan, Yunnan, Ningxia, and Qinghai, will start the first new college entrance examination in 2025.
