Students need to learn more Chinese. Putin personally teaches the first lesson of the school year

Recently, two things that I am deeply moved about are related to Chinese culture.
The first thing, on September 1st, Putin personally gave the first lesson of the school year, urging the children to study Chinese and other Eastern languages well.
Why?
Putin told the children: In fact, we are not just considering the current situation, but we are witnessing changes in the world pattern, which is an obvious fact.
When it comes to the future development of the world, Putin said that former French President Sarkozy recently published an article in which he agrees with most of the viewpoints.

Putin said, "The article mentions that by 2030, the population of Africa will grow to 2.5 billion, while the population of Europe will only be between 430 million and 450 million. What about Asia? China has 1.5 billion people, India also has 1.5 billion people, and Indonesia already has 300 million people. So this is an objective process. This is not related to the current global political situation... These are all absolutely objective and unavoidable processes."
Moreover, the rapid development of trade between Russia and countries such as China and India requires us to learn the language of countries with constantly evolving relations with our country, and the Russian government is encouraging this.
After looking at the data, in 1997, the number of people learning Chinese in Russia was about 5000, and by 2017 it had reached 56000, obviously more now.
In 2019, Russia held its first national unified examination for the Chinese subject. Chinese has become the fifth foreign language subject in the Russian national examination, following English, German, French, and Spanish.
Once upon a time, Chinese people actively learned Russian; Now, Russia encourages children to learn Chinese.
This world, 30 years east and 30 years west, has indeed undergone changes.

The second thing is that the President of the International Monetary Fund visited China and his attire was eye-catching.
In the global financial landscape, the IMF is an important presence, and its influence, to be frank, sometimes exceeds that of the World Bank.
Looking at the photos posted by Xinhua News Agency and meeting our Prime Minister, IMF President Georgieva smiled even happier, especially as she wore traditional Chinese clothing, which was even more Chinese than us Chinese.
Okiyeva comes from Bulgaria and has also served as Vice President of the European Commission. She is a Westerner, and in fact, according to convention, the President of the World Bank has always been an American, while the President of the IMF must be a European.
As a Westerner, this time coming to China, I am delighted to wear traditional Chinese clothing. Isn't this love?
Two things are not earth shattering events, but I always feel that they reflect an important trend: Russia's emphasis on Chinese language and the West's interest in Chinese culture.

Of course, behind this change, firstly, is the charm of Chinese culture, which is the wealth left to us by our ancestors; Secondly, it is still our national strength and influence today, and development is still a hard truth.
Seeing these two news pieces, I am quite proud and moved.
Of course, as Chinese people, we need to have cultural confidence and learn Chinese well. The Chinese characters we write will not be as beautiful as foreigners in the future; Emphasizing cultural dissemination more and making more foreigners fascinated by our culture is also a form of soft power.
I remember 9 years ago, during a speech at the headquarters of UNESCO, our leaders quoted a famous quote from Napoleon: there are two powers in the world: the sword and the mind; In the long run, the sword always falls under the hands of thought.
It is very meaningful.
Chinese civilization has been able to extend for 5000 years without interruption, and it has never relied on a sharp sword. The world situation is undergoing significant and profound changes, and we need to have this confidence and confidence, as well as a broad mind that embraces all rivers.

It is not ruled out that one day in the future, many people around the world will speak Chinese and take pride in wearing Chinese clothing. Of course, we also need to have a larger mindset, respect other cultures, and learn their languages.
The more open it is, the more invincible it is. Ignorance is not an obstacle to survival, arrogance is.
