Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Responds to Journalists' Questions and Lives on the Visit of Some Foreign Envoys to Xinjiang | Xinjiang | Spokesperson
Q: We have noticed that the first batch of foreign embassies in China recently visited Xinjiang this year. Can the spokesperson introduce the relevant information?
Answer: From July 31st to August 4th, at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 40 ambassadors and senior diplomats from 25 countries including Pakistan, Malaysia, Iran, Egypt, Guinea, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Dominica, and Nicaragua visited Xinjiang. The main leaders of the Party Committee and Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region met with the delegation. The delegation visited Kashgar, Aksu, and Urumqi, visiting old city renovation, mosques, Islamic academies, museums, intelligent agricultural machinery companies, rural revitalization projects, and themed exhibitions on counter-terrorism and de radicalization. They exchanged ideas with local religious figures, ethnic minorities, and others to gain a deeper understanding of the real situation of Xinjiang's economic development and prosperity, religious freedom, historical and cultural inheritance and protection, as well as the legitimacy, justice, necessity, and achievements of counter-terrorism and de radicalization struggles in Xinjiang.
The envoys generally stated that Xinjiang has "very beautiful scenery," "people are very enthusiastic," "the economy is very dynamic," and "every stop is impressive." Through this visit, they saw that Xinjiang's society is stable, and the government provides a safe living environment for the people; Seeing the rapid economic development of Xinjiang, becoming the forefront of China's opening-up to the outside world; Seeing that the people of Xinjiang live and work in peace and contentment, and their living conditions have greatly improved; Seeing the colorful and prosperous culture of Xinjiang, the traditional culture of ethnic minorities has been well protected and inherited. There is no such thing as "forced labor" in Xinjiang, and local agriculture has already used the most advanced machinery and equipment, greatly improving cotton picking efficiency through cotton picking machines. The real situation in Xinjiang is completely inconsistent with the lies fabricated by some Western media related to Xinjiang. We look forward to deeper exchanges and cooperation with Xinjiang.
The real feelings of foreign envoys visiting Xinjiang fully demonstrate once again that lies cannot conceal the truth, fairness and freedom are in people's hearts, and a few Western countries led by the United States fabricate the fallacy of so-called "genocide" and "forced labor" in Xinjiang, and the sinister plot to smear China cannot deceive the international community. China sincerely welcomes friends from all over the world to have more opportunities to visit Xinjiang in the future and experience its beauty, harmony, and development.
