This is the fourth wave of "bomb threat" emails recently received in South Korea from Japan. In the first half of August, Seoul City Government officials and South Korean media received threatening emails, including personal threats to Lee Jae myung, the leader of South Korea's largest opposition party, the Democratic Party of Korea, and "warnings" of "bomb attacks" in multiple places. However, the police have not found any explosives so far.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the sender impersonated a Japanese law firm to send an email. Based on the content, format, IP address, and other information of the email, the South Korean police speculated that the four waves of email threats so far were sent by the same person. The South Korean side has requested Japan's assistance in solving the case.
