On July 27th, according to Yonhap News Agency, the contaminated water from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant is expected to start being discharged into the ocean in August, and opposition from citizen groups and fishermen across South Korea is increasing. The Busan City Civic Group in South Korea went to Japan on the 26th, planning to carry out opposition activities in various places such as the Prime Minister's residence and Tokyo Electric Power Company.
The Busan Campaign Headquarters, composed of 63 civic groups in Busan, organized a signature event from June 1 to July 11 to oppose the disposal of Fukushima nuclear contaminated water. Currently, 111600 signatures from Busan citizens opposing the discharge of nuclear contaminated water into the ocean have been collected. The citizen group originally intended to submit the signature to the Japanese Consulate in Busan, but due to the Consulate's refusal to meet and receive it, the citizen group planned to use this itinerary to directly submit the signature to the Japan Atomic Energy Regulatory Commission.

On the evening of the 26th, a delegation of citizens went to Japan and planned to hold a press conference in front of the Prime Minister's residence to condemn the plan to discharge pollutants into the sea. They also organized a protest performance with Japanese and Korean citizens in front of Tokyo Electric Power Company, in collaboration with Japanese citizen groups.
In addition, 50 groups composed of seafood vendors, civic groups, and political parties in the suburbs of Seoul, South Korea, have recently launched a joint action to prevent the discharge of radioactive wastewater from Fukushima into the ocean. People hold up opposition signs and shout slogans while parading the streets. Fishermen from Jeollanamdo also organized 200 fishing boats to gather at the port in Baocheng County for a performance, opposing the discharge of nuclear contaminated water into the sea.
