South Korea has decided to exclude "killer level" questions from the college entrance examination
On the 19th, the ruling party National Power and government of South Korea decided in a parliamentary meeting to exclude "killer level" questions, which are extremely difficult questions, from the university study ability exam.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee Tae hyun, the National Power Officer of the Education Commission of the National Assembly of South Korea, said at a press conference on the 19th that the party and government unanimously believe that "killer level test questions" are the fundamental reason for promoting extracurricular tutoring, and have decided to arrange for the scope of the college entrance examination to not cover content outside of public education courses to ensure fairness and justice. The party and government have also decided to inspect the question setting system to ensure that the test questions reflect appropriate differentiation. Recently, the South Korean Ministry of Education will release a plan to enhance the competitiveness of school education and measures to reduce the burden on private education.
On June 15th, South Korean President Yoon Seok yeol instructed that content not covered in school curriculum should be excluded from the scope of the college entrance examination. He pointed out that the extracurricular tutoring fees have been continuously increasing recently, and it is necessary for the government to vigorously promote the plan to reduce extracurricular tutoring fees. Affected by Yin Xiyue's above remarks, the difficulty of the 2024 college entrance examination has attracted much attention.
