Japanese media reported that South Korea has been facing the problem of "ghost babies" for many years, and investigation results show that many people are unable to raise babies due to economic reasons. The recently exposed "Suwon Freezer Infant Death Case" has shocked South Korean public opinion. A woman in her thirties in Suwon gave birth to a baby girl and a baby boy in November 2018 and November 2019, respectively. The day after giving birth, she killed the baby and hid it in the freezer at home for several years. The woman claimed to have killed the baby due to economic difficulties.
