Do you think this result confirms the correctness of your viewpoint?
Macron said, "No, I am always very cautious about polls because sometimes polls are good and sometimes they are bad. I believe that you must design strategies based on everyone's long-term interests. I believe that our views on our own values and global order must be very strict. And order means reducing conflicts because the top priority on our agenda is to solve global problems."
Macron continued, "I believe that for me, the top priority of the global agenda is to work towards resolving existing crises, eliminating inequality and poverty, addressing climate change and biodiversity issues..." Subsequently, Macron proposed key elements for advancing these global agendas, "We need cooperation, especially between China and the United States. If there is no consensus between China and the United States on these issues, it is impossible to establish a global agenda and address these issues. This is my top priority.".
According to the interview video, Macron added that a method should be found to "quietly discuss and establish connections to ease tensions between China and the United States" regarding the key factors that will exacerbate differences, conflicts, and tensions between the two countries.
In April this year, French President Macron, who finished his visit to China, gave an interview to the media on his way back to France by special plane. In the interview, he said that Europe must reduce its dependence on the United States and avoid getting involved in the confrontation between the United States and China on the Taiwan issue.
"If the tension between the two superpowers escalates... we will not have the time and resources to fund our strategic autonomy, and we will become vassals," he said.
Since then, Macron said at a joint press conference with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in Amsterdam on April 12 that "European strategic autonomy is not just a concept, but is becoming a reality." He said, "Being an ally of the United States does not mean being a vassal. Being an ally does not mean that we do not have the right to think independently." On the Taiwan issue, Macron said that his position is "very clear." France and Europe have the same position on the Taiwan issue, support "maintaining the status quo," the one-China policy has not changed, and seek a peaceful solution to the Taiwan issue.
