According to Xi'an Emergency Management News, on August 11th, a flash flood and debris flow disaster occurred in Jiwozi Group, Heiziping Village, Luanzhen Street, Chang'an District. After investigation, the sudden flash flood and debris flow disaster caused a total of 27 deaths and missing persons. Currently, 21 victims have been found, and 6 people are still missing; Causing damage to 2 households, 3 and 21 minor damages to National Highway 210, 3 damage to power infrastructure, and a 35 kV power line malfunction, resulting in power outages for 900 households and 55 communication base stations.
After the disaster occurred, Xi'an immediately established an on-site command center, organizing 14 rescue forces including fire and public security, totaling more than 980 people. More than 1100 devices and search and rescue dogs, including life detectors, satellite phones, excavators, etc., were deployed to do a good job in personnel search and rescue, as well as emergency rescue work.
At present, Xi'an City is making every effort to seize the golden rescue period, continuing to race against time to search and rescue missing personnel, accelerating communication and power repair and recovery, focusing on key areas for risk elimination and river embankment reinforcement, and strictly preventing secondary disasters. At the same time, we will do a good job in resettling the masses and post disaster recovery and reconstruction, and restore normal production and life order as soon as possible. As of now, a total of 186 people have been relocated and resettled. Three severely damaged roads on National Highway 210 have been restored, 21 slightly damaged sections are being reinforced, 49 communication base stations in the disaster stricken area have resumed service, and 855 households have resumed power supply.
