CCTV News: On the morning of June 24th, as a demonstration project of integrated infrastructure interconnection in the Yangtze River Delta, Suzhou Metro Line 11 officially opened for operation. Suzhou and Shanghai have achieved interconnectivity in their main urban rail transit.
Suzhou Metro Line 11 is a demonstration project of integrated infrastructure interconnection in the Yangtze River Delta, with a total length of 41.25 kilometers and 28 stations. From Weiting Station in Suzhou Industrial Park in the west to Huaqiao Station in Kunshan in the east, and connecting to Shanghai Metro Line 11 at Huaqiao Station for transfer. The designed maximum operating speed of this line is 100 kilometers per hour, and the one-way travel time between Weiting and Huaqiao is 57 minutes. In order to further facilitate the passage between Shanghai and Jiangsu, two additional express trains were added before and after the regular first and last trains, stopping only at stations with high passenger flow. On the morning of June 24th, the line was officially put into operation. At this point, the main cities of Suzhou and Shanghai have achieved rail transit interconnection.
