Kim Jong un stated that "the great victory fought for by the people of North Korea and China with their blood still maintains the same tremendous vitality to this day," and "the martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army will forever live in the hearts of the North Korean people.".
Zhao Yongyuan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, accompanied by North Korean Defense Minister Qiang Chunnan, Foreign Minister Choi Sang hee, Minister of the Central Committee of the Party Kim Sung nam, and Deputy Minister of the Central Committee of the Party Kim Hee jung.
The Korean War broke out on June 25, 1950, and on July 27, 1953, the warring parties signed the Korean Armistice Agreement in Panmunjom. North Korea has designated July 27th as the Victory Day of the Liberation War of the Motherland.
