At the beginning of the awn seed season, praying mantis grows
Between June 5th and 7th every year, when the sun reaches 75 degrees longitude, the Grain in Ear solar term arrives.
This is the third solar term of summer, and the midsummer season begins. In some folk places, there is a custom of "sending the flower god" on Mangzhong Day. The gorgeous summer flowers are gradually falling apart, with layers of green varying shades, becoming the main color tone of the grain. People reluctantly bid farewell to the flower god and express their gratitude to him, hoping to meet again next year.
Mangzhong, literally means: "Harvest wheat with awns, seed rice with awns." It can be said that this is the busiest season of the year for farmers. Summer ripe wheat needs to be harvested quickly, autumn harvested rice needs to be sown quickly, and crops planted in spring need to be managed and cultivated. Nothing can go wrong, nothing is not busy for a moment.
In this solar term, the praying mantis in the grass is newly born, cicadas chirp on the branches, and dragonflies fly in the small pond. In the starry night of midsummer, the happy season of insects begins. The ancients observed the subtle changes in the germination of solar terms from the appearance of the little praying mantis, and lamented the fleeting passage of time.
The second season of mango seeds is when the shrimps begin to chirp
"In the middle of summer, the grass and trees are overpowering." Tang Dynasty pastoral poet Chu Guangxi wrote a few lines, describing the fiery atmosphere of the two seasons of the Mangzhong solar term, "when the shrimps begin to chirp.".
Burning is the state of life during this season. Growth, growth, batches of ripe fruits, the "hottest summer" atmosphere, how hot and sweet!
The shrike, also known as the shrike bird, is a small raptor that likes to eat insects and is beneficial for agriculture. The shrike bird prefers shade and sings when feeling the shade. It began to appear on the branches, chirping, indicating that in the fiery summer yang energy, yin energy was quietly breeding. In a few more days, it will be the summer solstice, and when the sun approaches this peak, a turning point will come.
Mangzhong is a season full of twists and turns.
Mangzhong's three seasons are silent and tongue turning
The anti tongued bird is a skilled singer. In spring, it can sing for itself and is good at imitating the calls of other birds, all of which are vividly learned, hence the name "hundred tongues". But in the lush midsummer, the anti tongued bird no longer chirps like spring, but becomes silent.
At this moment, everything that people can see is so scorching with the sun in the sky, shining brightly on the earth. The air is filled with a dry and hot atmosphere, as if only one layer of heat waves surpasses another.
The Dragon Boat Festival is also in the season of grain planting. There are many customs on the Dragon Boat Festival. In addition to eating Zongzi and rowing dragon boats, they also hang puai, bathing orchid soup, wearing sachets, wearing five colored threads, and lighting realgar. These customs have strong seasonal characteristics and almost all point to the need for detoxification, plague elimination, and exorcism in the midsummer season.
The protection of life from heaven is once again evident at this moment. Around the Dragon Boat Festival, it is the time when the herbs are ripe. Herbs such as mugwort and calamus have the strongest stems and leaves, the most abundant medicinal properties, and the best effects. They are packaged and hung on the door, boiled in water and drunk with wine, cooked together with rice, and bathed in soup. Men, women, and children in the world can safely survive the scorching summer with the fragrance of herbs, avoiding the suffering of the five poisons.
Mangzhong, Grass and Wood World
Mangzhong is very busy.
Joyous trees are vigorously showcasing their beauty on the branches,
A layer of pink edges was inlaid on the big tree.
Shu Kui perseveres upwards,
While yearning for the sky,
On one side, it bloomed flowers in the human world.
As long as it's planted,
The changes of days and the bits and pieces of time passing by
They will all be gifts.
As long as it's planted,
Retreat is advance, advance is advance,
Coming and going without looking back,
Life is a process of moving forward without hesitation.
Mangzhong · Whispers
In June, half of the year has passed, and the fruits harvested are from the first half of the year, while the seedlings planted are from the second half of the year.
Life is like planting, harvesting and planting go on at the same time, and the days slowly extend along our plow marks. We should not only bury our heads in cultivation, but also remember:
Busy is not lost. It's not about being busy blindly, it's about being very clear about what you want, directing your efforts towards a specific, practical goal, and taking action day after day towards it.
Busy is not chaotic, it's not like doing a lot of things without any sense of gain in the end. What is more difficult than doing things is the ability to make selective choices and judgments, simplify complexity in complex things, and merge them in order.
Busy is not flustered, not anxious time, but having confidence and patience to level the ground. The saying goes, "Diligent and tiring work leads to constant leisure in the heart." Do not let excessive busyness obscure the eyes of observing life. Stop and feel more, open up more leisure, and relax your breath. In slowing down, you can also find the strength to move forward.
Wishing you a busy and beautiful season, finding your own rhythm. Get something from busy work, get something from planting, and don't lose your composure.
