See you at university!, A "wheelchair boy" who has undergone three craniotomy surgeries
"You stand in the desperate situation of your goal, but realize, appreciate, and taste the excitement of the process, and then you send the desperate situation to the brink."
Perhaps due to similar circumstances, this sentence written by Shi Tiesheng in "Me and the Temple of Earth" is often mentioned by Wu Haoran.
This year's college entrance examination, this "wheelchair boy" from Huoqiu, Anhui scored 445 points, exceeding the second tier admission line by 18 points. Its inspiring story has sparked heated discussions among netizens.

As September approaches, Wu Haoran is about to enter the university campus.
"The school invited me to visit the campus in the next few days, and I am full of anticipation for this trip." Wu Haoran smiled as he talked about the upcoming new journey. "The road ahead is still long, and I will work hard to pursue my dreams."
3 craniotomy sessions
Wu Haoran was born in 2004 and, like many children, had a happy childhood.
One day in March 2013, misfortune suddenly struck. Wu Haoran, who was playing on campus, suddenly fell to the ground and was rushed to the local hospital in Lu'an. After undergoing craniotomy, Wu Haoran lay in the intensive care unit for over 20 days before escaping danger.
"At that time, the initial diagnosis was cerebral hemorrhage, but the specific cause of the cerebral hemorrhage was not clear." Wu Haoran's mother, Wang Benrong, recalled the scene at the hospital with a red corner of her eyes. "The doctor said it was fortunate to be able to save her life."

After more than 8 months of recovery, Wu Haoran's physical condition has greatly improved. In early 2014, his family took him to the Affiliated Pediatric Hospital of Fudan University in Shanghai for medical treatment, and he was diagnosed with cerebrovascular malformation. Subsequently, two more craniotomy surgeries were performed to completely remove the lesion.
"After experiencing this serious illness, the child's future life is basically inseparable from a wheelchair. Memory is also greatly affected," said Wang Benrong.
"Treat me like a normal child"
Although disabled due to illness, Wu Haoran did not give up. With the support of his family, he constantly overcame various difficulties and did not neglect his studies. In 2020, Wu Haoran was successfully admitted to Huoqiu County Second Middle School.
"On the first day of school, I had a heart to heart conversation with Wu Haoran, hoping to provide him with some convenience through the school, but I didn't want to hurt the child's' self-esteem '. The homeroom teacher, Dai Yan'an, said that Wu Haoran firmly told him,' You don't need to treat me special, just treat me as a normal child. '"
"Later, I asked his parents for their opinions and also planned to make the child independent and self reliant without special care," said Dai Yan'an.
In his third year of high school, Wu Haoran's class was on the fourth floor. He used crutches and stairs to climb up and down the teaching building every day without saying a word of complaint. The school intended to help him adjust the classroom, but he refused.
"Due to his memory impairment, Wu Haoran had to put in several times more effort than others to achieve the same learning effect." Dai Yan'an said, feeling heartbroken as he watched the child repeat English words over and over again. However, he was also moved by his indomitable will.
"Thank you for your guidance over the past three years, and thank you for accompanying us through hardships. I believe that parting is for a better reunion." As graduation approached, Wu Haoran secretly wrote these words in a letter to his homeroom teacher.
"Cannot change the past, but can change the future"
On June 24th, the Anhui college entrance examination scores were announced, and Wu Haoran scored 445 points, exceeding the second tier admission line by 18 points.
"Although the score is not high, it is not easy for him. The hard work he put in during his three years of high school has paid off, and we are very satisfied and proud of him," said Wang Benrong.

"As long as I work hard, even if I don't do well in the exam, I have no regrets," Wu Haoran said. "My parents have put in a lot of effort over the years, and I hope to achieve something in the future and reduce their burden.".
On August 10th, Wu Haoran received an admission letter from Bengbu Business School.
"At the moment I opened the notice, I was very happy. There is still a long way to go in the future, and I need to face it with a positive attitude. I cannot change the past, but I can change the future." Wu Haoran told reporters that in order to not fall behind, after the college entrance examination, he started self-learning the English CET-4.
"Although I am learning slowly, as long as I put in more effort, I believe I can catch up." Speaking of the future, Wu Haoran was full of confidence.
