Recently, Chongqing has experienced the strongest rainfall process since the start of the flood season, with multiple small and medium-sized rivers exceeding the warning water level and guaranteed water level, and locally experiencing severe flood and disaster situations. According to predictions, heavy rainfall in Chongqing may continue to occur frequently in the future, which can easily trigger secondary disasters such as geological disasters, floods in small and medium-sized rivers, and mountain floods. The flood risk remains high, and the flood prevention situation is further tightening.

At around 9 o'clock in the morning, Yuan Jiajun and Hu Henghua arrived at the Municipal Flood Control and Drought Relief Command Headquarters to monitor the rain and flood situation in various districts and counties of the city through the command screen, listen to reports on local disaster and emergency rescue situations from Wanzhou District, Wushan County, and Dianjiang County, and make real-time scheduling of relevant work. The Municipal Meteorological Bureau, Municipal Emergency Bureau, Municipal Water Resources Bureau, and Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau reported on the recent weather forecasting, emergency rescue, water situation response, and geological disaster prevention and control in Chongqing. Yuan Jiajun pointed out in his speech that,
