Russian weapons are reliable and effective. Russian Defense Minister Shoigu: Western weapons have not performed as expected on the battlefield. NATO | Ukraine | Shoigu
According to today's Russian television website on August 14th, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu stated that Western weapons delivered to Ukraine did not perform as expected on the battlefield, and Russian weapons have proven their effectiveness.
During his speech at the opening ceremony of the Military 2023 International Military Technology Forum, Shoigu stated that many innovative technologies of Russia's military industrial complex have been implemented on the battlefield, helping Russian troops carry out military operations in Ukraine.
According to the report, the Russian Defense Minister stated, "Under actual combat conditions, our weapons have shown reliability and effectiveness... At the same time, many people boast that Western equipment is actually not perfect." Shoigu told guests that seeing is believing and they can see with their own eyes the Western weapons seized by Russia on display at the forum.
The report also stated that the United States and NATO have delivered weapons, equipment, and ammunition worth over $100 billion to Kiev so far. Earlier this year, NATO also provided modern Western tanks to the Ukrainian military for use in their massive spring and summer counterattacks. However, since the launch of the counterattack in early June, Kiev has not made much progress and has instead suffered significant casualties while attempting to break through the Russian defense line. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Ukraine has lost approximately 5000 pieces of heavy equipment, including dozens of Western tanks and armored vehicles, as well as 43000 soldiers.
