Russian media: Ukrainian military launches missile attacks on two bridges connecting Crimea | Ukraine | Bridge
According to the TASS website on August 7th, the Ukrainian armed forces launched missile attacks on the Jongar Bridge connecting Crimea and Kherson Oblast, as well as a road bridge in the Alabat Shatsui region, on August 6th.
It is reported that the Ukrainian army used a British made "Storm Shadow" stealth cruise missile when attacking the Qionghar Bridge. According to the latest news, a civilian was injured in the attack.
Acting Chief Executive of Kherson Oblast, Sardo, stated that the Ukrainian military used "Storm Shadow" missiles to attack the Jongar Bridge and Jongar Village. Bridges and rural schools were both damaged.
Crimean leader Akshonov confirmed the information of the bridge damage, stating that it was an attack but did not result in any fatalities.
According to reports, the Ukrainian military also carried out missile attacks on the road bridge connecting Gnychysk and the Arabat Shazui region. Part of Shazui belongs to Kherson Oblast and part belongs to the Crimean Republic.
Sardo revealed that the Ukrainian army launched a total of 12 missiles, of which 9 were shot down by air defense systems. He did not specify the type of missile.

Sardo stated that the attacked bridge has no significant military value. The Zhan Koi checkpoint on the road crossing the Qionghar Bridge has been temporarily suspended.
After the attack on the Arabat Shazui Bridge, a nearby natural gas pipeline caught fire, causing more than 20000 residents of Gnychysk to lose gas. At present, the fire has been extinguished.
According to reports, Ukrainian armed forces have announced responsibility for the attack on the bridge at the border between Kherson Oblast and Crimea.
The Ukrainian army attacked the Qionghar Bridge on June 22. Although there were no casualties, the roadbed of the bridge was damaged. The repair work began on June 25th and the bridge resumed operation on July 2nd.
