Russian media: Ukraine launches three cluster ammunition shells into Russian territory | Ukrainian army | Russian territory
According to a report by Russian news agency on July 22, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov of Belgorod Oblast reported on Telegram software that the Ukrainian army had shelled a local village, including firing three cluster ammunition.
According to the report, he wrote, "Regarding the attack by the Ukrainian armed forces on our region on July 21st: in the Belgorod region, 21 shells and 3 cluster ammunition were fired at the village of Rulavlyivka using a salvo rocket launcher. In addition, a suicide drone was used to attack the village and rocket launchers were fired - a total of 10 times recorded."
Gladkov added that the Ukrainian army also fired 9 shells, conducted two rocket launchers, and threw an explosive device from a drone towards the village of Shedinovka.
He pointed out, "There have been no casualties or damage to facilities in any residential areas in this area."
According to reports, US President Biden announced this month that the White House has decided to supply cluster ammunition to Kiev. It is prohibited by the Convention on Cluster Munitions, but the United States, Ukraine, and Russia are not parties.
When commenting on this, Putin reminded that previous US governments have called such behavior a crime. Putin believes that "this is an attitude that should be upheld.". Putin also stated that the Russian military has sufficient reserves of various types of cluster ammunition.
The Human Rights Watch organization stated that delivering cluster ammunition to Kiev will inevitably bring long-term suffering to civilians and make international condemnation meaningless.
