According to the report, he wrote on Twitter, "Latvia will no longer issue humanitarian or other types of visas to Russian citizens."
The President of Latvia also added that the transit restrictions imposed on Russian citizens in September 2022 will continue to be retained.
According to reports, starting from September 19, 2022, Latvia, along with Estonia, Lithuania, and Poland, has banned Russian citizens holding Schengen visas issued by other EU countries from entering the country for security reasons.
On September 12, 2022, the simplified visa agreement between Russia and the European Union was completely suspended.
