After the Wagner Group incident subsided, Russian Defense Minister Shoigu made his first appearance.
According to a report by Russia's Sputnik News Agency on the 26th, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that Russian Defense Minister Shoigu inspected the command post of a unit of the Russian Western Military Region in the special military operation area against Ukraine and requested that the unit actively conduct reconnaissance.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that at the command post, Shoigu listened to reports from the unit on the current situation, the nature of enemy actions, and the main combat tasks of the Russian military.
Shao Yigu assigned the troops the task of actively implementing reconnaissance and pointed out the need to pay attention to comprehensive support for the troops participating in special military operations.
According to Russian media reports on the 24th, when asked about whether Russian President Putin still trusts Shoigu, Russian President's press secretary Peskov said he was unaware of any changes in this regard.
Regarding personnel adjustments, Peskov also stated, "According to the Constitution, these issues belong to the exclusive privilege and authority of the Supreme Commander, so it is almost impossible to discuss these topics in the aforementioned contacts."
On the 25th local time, the "Russia-1 Channel" television station released footage of Russian President Putin's handling of the Wagner Group incident on the 24th. The host stated that although it was Saturday, Putin still started working early in the morning.
The footage shows that Putin delivered a televised speech to the entire Russian population at 10am local time on the 24th. In response to the Wagner Group incident that occurred that day, he stated that Russia will never allow for further division.
The program also exposed footage of Putin talking on the phone with Belarusian President Lukashenko in his office.
