Recently, the country has been increasing military spending and plans to develop offensive weapon systems. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen our deterrence force to eliminate threats from that direction."
According to reports, the Tu-160 is a multi-purpose supersonic strategic bomber designed with variable sweep wings, aimed at launching nuclear cruise missiles and conventional missiles to destroy targets, including those in the deep rear. The maximum level flight speed of the Tu-160 can reach Mach 2.05, making it currently the fastest strategic bomber in the world.
In recent years, the Russian Ministry of Defense has been promoting modernization plans for this type of aircraft. In January 2018, the Russian Ministry of Defense signed the first batch of national order contracts for Tu-160M with Tupolev Company. In addition, the current Tu-160 is being upgraded and renovated.
