Russia and Ukraine face each other head-on, Ukraine | Russia | International Court of Justice
According to Reuters on June 6th, Ukraine and Russia engaged in a standoff at the United Nations Supreme Court on Moscow's alleged support for pro Russian elements in eastern Ukraine, who are believed to be the culprits behind the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 in 2014.
According to reports, judges of the International Court of Justice in The Hague will hear Ukraine's accusations that Moscow violated the United Nations anti-terrorism treaty by providing equipment and funds to pro Russian forces. International investigators believe that pro Russian forces shot down Malaysia Airlines jet over eastern Ukraine, resulting in the death of all 298 passengers and crew members.
On July 17, 2014, as the battle between pro Russian armed militants and Ukrainian government forces intensified, Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 was hit by a missile on its way from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.

According to the report, this will be the first time that Ukrainian and Russian lawyers have met in the International Court of Justice since the outbreak of the Russian Ukrainian conflict on February 24, 2022.
At present, officials from the Russian Embassy in The Hague cannot be reached for comment on this matter. Ukraine will first make a statement before Russia can respond. Moscow has always believed that the International Court of Justice has no jurisdiction and has attempted to have the court withdraw the case.
According to reports, in November last year, a Dutch court convicted two Russian men and a Ukrainian citizen of murder in the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 in absentia and sentenced them to life imprisonment. This court also found that since mid May 2014, Russia has "fully controlled" the troops of Donetsk, which separated from eastern Ukraine.
