Residents suspect that large ice cubes have fallen from the plane! A house in the United States was damaged and injured. Ilg | Roof | Massachusetts, USA
A large block of ice recently fell from the sky and hit a residential building in Sherry Town, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA, causing damage to the roof. Fortunately, no one was injured.
The Associated Press reported on the 17th, citing homeowner Jeff Ilger, that the incident occurred on the evening of the 13th. He and his wife Amelia Lanville were preparing to go to bed when they heard a loud noise and then heard fragments rolling off the roof. At first, they thought the house had been struck by lightning, then went upstairs to see the two children and found that they were sleeping soundly and not awakened by the noise. Later, they circled around the house and Ilg saw a large block of ice on the backstage steps, with smaller ice scattered on the backyard and roof.
Ilg picked up the flashlight and started checking for any damage to the house, but at first he didn't notice anything. After Lanville reported to the police, he found a hole on the roof and ran to the attic to check.
"There is indeed a hole, and it is very large," Ilger said. The diameter of the impact site is about 45 to 60 centimeters, but the damage inside the roof is more severe.
They collected large ice cubes weighing about 4 kilograms in bags. Ilg said there are still many broken ice cubes.
The couple estimated that a large ice block weighing 6 to 9 kilograms hit the roof. Given that their house is located below a flight route, the couple suspects that the ice fell from a plane taking off and landing at Boston Logan International Airport.
The Federal Aviation Administration of the United States stated that it is investigating this matter.
