On July 26th local time, the Dutch Coast Guard stated that a cargo ship carrying about 3000 cars caught fire in the country's waters, resulting in one death and multiple injuries. Rescue workers said the cargo ship may sink.
According to reports, the registered address of the burning cargo ship is Panama, with a hull length of 199 meters and about 3000 cars on board. It is planned to sail from Germany to Egypt.
Rescue personnel from the Dutch Coast Guard said they sprayed water to extinguish the fire on the cargo ship after discovering it caught fire, but injecting too much water may cause it to sink. A spokesperson for the Coast Guard revealed that the cause of the fire may be related to the electric vehicles on board.
It is reported that the fire has caused one death and multiple injuries. Some of the injured have been urgently transported by helicopter to the hospital for treatment.
The Coast Guard stated that salvage experts are developing further rescue plans for the ship.
