On that day, while carrying out law enforcement patrols in key sea areas, the East China Sea Branch of the China Coast Guard discovered a fishing vessel engaged in illegal trawl operations about 65 nautical miles southeast of Shantou, Guangdong. Two coast guard vessels immediately approached and requested to stop for inspection, but the fishing vessel refused to accept instructions and fled in the opposite direction at a speed of 10 to 12 knots. During this period, the fishing boat repeatedly dropped its catch, fishing net, and cut off the stern trawl in an attempt to destroy evidence. After failing to implement policy advice and route control measures, the maritime police vessels decisively implemented countermeasures such as pincer attacks and water cannon spraying. But the fishing boat turned at a large angle and crossed the bow of the coast guard vessel, causing a collision between the two ships. Multiple steel spikes were placed on both sides of the ship's side to prevent law enforcement officers from jumping onto the ship for inspection. After multiple malicious impacts, the mast of one coast guard vessel broke and the guardrail deformed. The fishing vessel was forced to stop due to a broken starboard fence and water ingress. The law enforcement officers accurately grasped the timing and quickly boarded and controlled the fishing vessel and the 9 personnel on board. Subsequently, maritime law enforcement officers helped to drain and block the leak, and escorted him back to the port.

After investigation, it was found that the illegal fishing vessel was "Minhuiyu 25", with a captain of 35 meters and a total tonnage of 235 tons. It was a steel fishing tackle vessel, and it changed its operation type to trawl without authorization, suspected of violating the fishing ban during the summer break. During the process of lawfully apprehending maritime police vessels, their violent resistance to the law seriously endangers the safety of maritime police vessels and themselves, and is suspected of the crime of obstructing official duties.
Next, the China Coast Guard will continue to increase its efforts in maritime control, crack down severely on vicious crimes such as violent resistance to the law, and make every effort to ensure maritime safety and stability.
