Referring to the "Twin Cities Forum" which conveys the value of peace and the urgency of dialogue, Jiang Wan'an sets off for Shanghai City | Twin Cities | Forum
On the morning of August 29th, Taipei Mayor Jiang Wan'an led a delegation to Shanghai to participate in the 2023 Shanghai Taipei City Forum and conduct municipal exchanges and visits.
Before departing, Jiang Wan'an stated at Taipei Songshan Airport that no matter how Taiwan's political parties change and whether cross-strait relations are in good or bad times, the "Twin Cities Forum" continues to maintain dialogue between the two modern cities, and also conveys the value of peace and the urgency of dialogue in cross-strait relations.
He believes that the complexity of cross-strait relations cannot be simplified in just a few words. Only through a mechanism of continuous dialogue and a willingness to engage in dialogue can we maintain the stability of cross-strait interaction amidst countless obstacles. Action must be taken to create opportunities.
Since 2010, Shanghai and Taipei have taken turns hosting the "Twin Cities Forum" to jointly explore people's concerns, share urban management experiences, and engage in cultural exchanges and interactions, achieving fruitful results. It is reported that after consultation, both parties have decided to resume the forum as a physical meeting this year and hold it in Shanghai with the theme of "New Trends and New Development". They also plan to sign cooperation memorandums in relevant fields.
