"RCEP provides a good opportunity for member countries to open up their markets and expand their market scope, which can promote economic and trade cooperation among member countries," Anna Robinho, Advisor to the ASEAN Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General of the ASEAN Economic Community, said at the "2023 RCEP Local Government and Sister City Cooperation Forum" recently held.
With the theme of "regional cooperation for a win-win future", this forum held in Mount Huangshan City, Anhui Province, released a strong signal that the members of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement should strengthen regional cooperation and share development opportunities.
At the forum, two sister city projects, six economic and trade cooperation projects, and five cultural cooperation projects were signed, involving multiple fields such as artificial intelligence and blockchain, cultural tourism, education and medical care.

Le Saiyapeng, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Laos, stated that the signing of a friendly inter provincial relationship between the provinces of Azupo and Anhui is a sign of a higher level of local relations between Laos and China, and will truly promote the fruitful cooperation between the two sides in the future.
Representatives from RCEP member countries attending the meeting have expressed their expectations for strengthening cooperation, from economic and trade to humanities.

"The different climate conditions of RCEP member countries provide a favorable environment for the production and processing of different agricultural products, and we will further leverage this advantage to promote development and cooperation." Zhang Zhizhi, President of Japan Enjoyment Travel Co., Ltd., stated that cultural exchange projects between local governments of RCEP member countries can be actively promoted, fully utilizing the unique natural landscapes, historical relics, and cultural experiences of each country, vigorously developing cross-border tourism routes, and providing richer, more diverse, and unique cross-border tourism products.
By promoting trade development, resource flow, and strengthening the multilateral trading system, RCEP can fully leverage the advantages of its member countries and unleash the potential for local cooperation by deepening regional cooperation and exchanges.
"The development potential of regional industrial chains mainly depends on the hierarchical structure, which means that different economies in the region are located at different positions in the industrial chain, forming complementarity in industry types and different links. The Conch Group's Madwan Conch Cement Project in Cambodia can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 200000 tons annually through the application of biomass alternative fuel systems. This system combines the advantages of large-scale rice cultivation in Cambodia, using rice husks as fuel, while reducing the company's production costs and protecting the environment.
"The production lines of Conch's overseas projects all adopt the most advanced technology and equipment facilities, providing advanced equipment manufacturing, process technology, and management technology for the investment country. According to Yang Jun, Conch Group currently invests over 13 billion yuan in RCEP member countries such as Indonesia, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, and Cambodia, with nearly 4500 overseas employees.
"Chinese companies investing in building factories in Indonesia can bring us advanced technology and increase the added value of products. These technologies have been localized and applied in Indonesia, leading to the adjustment and upgrading of the Indonesian supply chain." Li Yuansheng, Chairman of the China Indonesia Chamber of Commerce, said that nowadays, in Indonesia, which is famous for exporting iron ore, many battery factories serving new energy vehicles can also be seen.
"Through RCEP, member countries can effectively respond to changes in the global trade environment.
