Raise the Honor and Gather Strength Flag | Team | Strength
When Guo Hanyu and Hu Zhenzhuo learned that they would be the flag bearer of the Chinese college sports delegation, they were both excited and said, "It's so glorious to hold the national flag high and walk at the front of the team!"
Guo Hanyu had experienced the stage of the Universiade four years ago. In 2019, she and her partner Ye Qiuyu won the women's doubles tennis championship at the Naples Universiade, marking the second gold medal for the Chinese team in this event since the 2001 Beijing Universiade. Guo Hanyu said, "My goal has always been to make the five-star red flag fly high on the field. Now, as the flag bearer of the Chinese college sports delegation, I feel a strong sense of responsibility to raise the national flag and enter the stadium."
Over the past four years, Guo Hanyu has undergone numerous international tennis tournaments and has been promoted from an undergraduate student to a master's student at the School of Physical Education, Southwest University. Through studying sports courses, Guo Hanyu has deepened his understanding of tennis, and his training has become more targeted. When encountering setbacks and difficulties, he can also make timely adjustments.
Guo Hanyu has more expectations for the upcoming Universiade. For her, what is more important is to gain friendship and exchange competition experience. She said, "At the Universiade, topics like 'how to balance training and learning' are topics that everyone is eager to discuss."
Hu Zhenzhuo, who participated in the Universiade for the first time, said that the atmosphere of the Universiade is different from that of the National Games, Youth Games, and so on. University athletes from all over the world gathered in Chengdu, Sichuan to engage in competitive exchanges and enhance friendship. Hu Zhenzhuo hopes to showcase the charm of Chinese youth to the world.
When he was in elementary school, Hu Zhenzhuo was an outstanding badminton player and had won the top three in Liaoning Province's youth competitions multiple times. Later, he switched to practicing volleyball and won the championship of the National High School Student Championships with the men's volleyball team of Beijing Jingshan School. In 2021, he was admitted as an undergraduate student by the School of Social Sciences at Tsinghua University.
Through professional studies, Hu Zhenzhuo has broadened his horizons and gained a deeper understanding of volleyball. He said, "I feel that my ability to read competitions has improved, and I can quickly adapt to new environments and master new technologies."
In addition to volleyball, Hu Zhenzhuo also loves playing football and archery, and he is eager to be inspired in different sports. At this Universiade, he arranged the competition training in an orderly manner and also planned to watch athletics and basketball matches. "Look more, you can always learn something." Hu Zhenzhuo was full of expectations.
