Quick review: Korean style entry into the circle or "new" style execution? The strategic choice of neighboring countries under the game between China and the United States should be aware of advancing and retreating from the world | China | Strategy
On August 14th, Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Huang Xuncai, pointed out at the "Recreating Fate" conference commemorating the 100th birthday of founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew that Singapore plays a useful and honest intermediary role in regional and international affairs, allowing for maximum independence and autonomy in diplomacy.
On August 15th, South Korean President Yoon Seok yeol praised Japan as a "partner" and wanted to "contribute" together with Japan in a speech commemorating Japan's Day of Liberation from Japanese colonial rule. On that day, the United States, Japan, and South Korea held a video conference to prepare for the upcoming Camp David summit on the 18th.
One world, two choices.
China has no intention of competing for world leadership. As early as 2012, China proposed that there is enough space on both sides of the broad Pacific to accommodate the common development of China and the United States. If China and the United States cooperate, they will benefit both; if they fight, they will lose both. We should adhere to the concept of building a new type of major country relationship to guide the interaction between the two countries in the Asia Pacific region. In the same year, then US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton attended the South Pacific Island Forum on August 31st, stating that the Pacific Ocean was large enough to accommodate both China and the United States.
However, with the improvement of China's comprehensive national strength, the increasingly declining hegemonic anxiety syndrome of the United States has prompted it to continuously establish "small courtyards and high walls", coerce countries around the world to choose sides and stand in line, and "decouple" from China. This greatly tests the wisdom and determination of world leaders. Fortunately, the vast majority of leaders of peace loving countries can maintain a clear mind and make choices that are in line with the interests of their own people.
Yunzhi Juezhong is the way for Singapore to establish its country. DBS Group President Gao Bode said that China is the largest trading partner of more than 120 countries and regions, as well as the largest trading partner of the eight ASEAN member states. Its relationship with the world economy is huge and complex. Therefore, it is difficult to decouple from China in many fields. As Huang Xuncai believes, fierce or extreme competition may be the decisive feature of China US relations in the future, but "the United States must learn to coexist with China."
Singapore's Foreign Minister Vivian previously stated that ASEAN countries do not want to split or become vassals themselves, let alone become a stage of proxy warfare. The Bangkok Post in Thailand issued an article on the 15th stating that ASEAN member countries should be cautious in formulating their foreign policies.
However, politicians from a very small number of countries are still obsessed with the halo of "hegemonism" and are willing to become a pawn in the geopolitical game of the United States, trying their best to squeeze into the small circle dominated by the United States.
The ancients said, "Those who refuse will be despised by heaven, and heaven will despise them." If a tiger acts as a scapegoat and assists a king in tyranny, they will eventually be despised by the people of the world. I hope politicians who enter the Korean style circle can get lost and turn back. Don't drag the entire country and people into the abyss of disaster for your own selfish interests.
