The mountain road winds and the forest is dense. On the eve of the "July 1st" holiday, when off-road vehicles shuttled about an hour in Nanyi Valley, Milin City, Xizang, the mountains suddenly opened up. A plank road with party flags and national flags on both sides appeared, connecting a wooden house 100 meters away. This is the "Red Small Pastoral House" in Qionglin Village, which is a witness of the Luoba ethnic party members and cadres leading the masses to inherit history and defend the country.
Entering the small pastoral house, exhibits such as rough machetes and wooden tools recount the production and living conditions of the people of Lhoba before the liberation. Dawa, secretary of the Party branch of Qionglin Village, Nanyi Loba Ethnic Township, Milin City, said that before the peaceful liberation of Xizang, the Loba people lived by hunting, and simple small grazing houses were their places to recuperate. With the Communist Party leading the people of Luoba to liberate themselves and carry out democratic reforms, the Luoba ethnic group moved from mobile small pastoral houses to fixed small courtyards.
"The housing project, the construction of a moderately prosperous border village, and other projects have been implemented one after another in the village, and our living environment is constantly improving." Dawa excitedly said that thanks to the national investment of 75 million yuan in the construction of Qionglin New Village, 238 people from 57 households in the village moved into beautiful new houses in 2020.
Qionglin Tibetan means "the place where the great Peng bird resides", and it is a gathering place for the less populous Luoba ethnic group in China. Qionglin New Village is located not far from the "Red Pastoral House".
"I must come to my new home to take a look and experience the happy life of the Luoba people." Dawa, born in 1985, warmly invited me. Entering Qionglin New Village, cement roads lead to every household, with all water and electricity networks in. Kindergarten, cultural square, village clinic, and other facilities are readily available. Dawa happily introduced that with the help of the Guangdong Zhuhai Aid Tibet Work Team, the Qionglin Village Health Center has also built a 5G remote medical station, which can enjoy advanced medical treatment without leaving the village.
Sitting in the spacious and bright living room, drinking steaming butter tea, Dawa smiled and said, "The village is beautiful, and the villagers are even more determined to strive for a better life."
Dawa introduced that the village party branch actively organizes everyone to participate in rural industrial construction, relying on labor to increase income and become rich. Last year, the annual per capita disposable income of Qionglin Village reached 31000 yuan, higher than the annual per capita income of farmers and herdsmen in Xizang.
When it comes to the wealth creation industry in the village, Dawa is like a treasure trove. "In the past three years, Luoba Workshop has driven 38 women in the village to increase their annual income by 3000 yuan. There are 49 Ganoderma lucidum greenhouses in the village, and by the end of last year, the average household income has increased by 20000 yuan." Holding her fingers, Dawa said happily that since 2020, the Organization Department of the Party Committee of the Xizang Autonomous Region and the Political Department of the Xizang Military Region have carried out a pilot project of building military and civilian grass-roots party branches in Qionglin Village, and have explored an industry incubation model of "military and civilian funding, farmers and herdsmen providing labor", developing the textile and ganoderma lucidum planting industries.
Relying on the "Red Small Pastoral House", Qionglin Village is also vigorously developing "red tourism" and creating "red routes". It has received more than 3600 visiting and learning teams, generating income of 380000 yuan.
"The village has also formed a transportation team. The villagers have gained a considerable income by running transportation, renting construction machinery, and so on." Speaking of income channels, Dawa happily bloomed. "Guess, what is the total income of our village's collective economy now?"
When the reporter couldn't answer, Dawa laughed and said, "By the end of last year, it had already exceeded 10 million yuan! Now that the party's policies are so good, we must seize the opportunity, work harder, create a better life, and consciously be the guardians of the sacred land and the builders of a happy home."
Dawa's laughter echoed through the new house with blue roofs and red walls, echoing in the village where red flags fluttered from every household.
