Putin: Currently, there is no need to mobilize personnel to participate in the war in Ukraine
According to Reuters, Russian President Putin stated on June 13th that he currently believes there is no need to mobilize personnel to Ukraine to participate in the war, but stated that it all depends on what Russia wants to achieve there.
According to reports, after announcing a "partial mobilization" of 300000 reserve soldiers last year, Putin said at a televised meeting of Russian war journalists and military bloggers, "There is no need for this now." He said that the Russian Ministry of Defense believes there is no need for another wave of personnel.
Putin said, "Some public figures say we need to get 1 or 2 million soldiers. It depends on what we want. Should we go back there?" The report states that Putin is referring to Kiev, which was not occupied by the Russian military during the early stages of the special military operation.
Putin also said that Russia needs to combat enemy agents and improve its defense capabilities against attacks that penetrate deep into its own territory. But he said there is no need to follow Ukraine's example and declare martial law. Putin said, "There is no reason to implement any special system or martial law in this country. There is no need to do so today."
Putin said that Ukraine's large-scale counterattack began on June 4th and has not been successful in any region. He also said that Ukraine's personnel losses are 10 times that of Russia.
He said that Ukraine lost over 160 tanks and 25% to 30% of foreign vehicles, while Russia lost 54 tanks.
Putin also said that on the 6th, Ukraine deliberately attacked the Kakhovka Dam with the "Hamas" rocket provided by the United States, which also hindered Kiev's counterattack efforts.
