The "Five Elements Emblem" resembling a classical key, the "Ginkgo Blossom" canvas bag and the Inquiring Pen Bag, and a customized version of a museum commemorative postcard... Recently, nearly a thousand 2023 undergraduate students from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine have registered. To their surprise, the school prepared a series of welcome packages and heartfelt gifts containing elements of traditional Chinese medicine for them, which not only filled the sense of enrollment ceremony, but also allowed them to embark on a journey of exploring traditional Chinese medicine culture on the first day of entering the traditional Chinese medicine campus.
This year, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine has specially customized the "Ginkgo Blossom" series of innovative birthday gifts for new students. Among them, there is a "Five Elements Emblem" that resembles a classical key. The teeth of the five keys are respectively based on the corresponding five colors of the five elements, using the "Nine Stacked Seal Script" seal font, engraved with the words "wood", "fire", "earth", "gold", and "water". The handle is designed in the shape of a gourd, symbolizing "hanging a pot to aid the world". The badge lining card features ginkgo biloba leaves as the background, with the red color of the traditional Chinese medicine school emblem as the main color. The school emblem is printed in the upper right corner and the words "Traditional Chinese Medicine is the key to opening the treasure trove of Chinese civilization" are printed at the bottom, encouraging students to focus on their studies and continuously explore the mysteries of the treasure trove of traditional Chinese medicine, understand the unique advantages of traditional Chinese medicine, integrate their knowledge, and assist in the innovative development of the traditional Chinese medicine industry in the future.
On the day of registration, nearly a thousand new students of traditional Chinese medicine not only held a "Five Elements Emblem", but also received a series of new students' notebooks, "Ginkgo Blossom" canvas bags, and a knowledge seeking pen bag, which were both beautiful and practical. Each college of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine has also prepared professional gift packages for new students, including weighing scales, tuning forks, percussion hammers, etc., allowing new students to embark on a journey of exploring traditional Chinese medicine on their first day on campus.
On August 28th, 2023, first-year students of traditional Chinese medicine came to the Shanghai Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine on campus to listen to a lecture on "The Birth of Books - The Past and Present of a Medical Book", visit the "Linglan Ink Rhyme - Shanghai Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine Collection of Modern Chinese Medicine Books and Periodicals Exhibition" in the third floor exhibition hall, and stamp a commemorative postcard filled with family letters on the museum. This customized postcard will become an ambassador for spreading love and traditional Chinese medicine culture, carrying the blessings of the new generation of traditional Chinese medicine to their families, and will be sent to various parts of the country.
It is reported that this year marks the 85th anniversary of the establishment of the Shanghai Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The museum will introduce museum resources into the enrollment education of new students at the university, and send exhibition invitations to new students majoring in medicine nationwide. From September to December, new medical students nationwide can enter the museum free of charge with admission notices, and will receive exquisite commemorative postcards commemorating the 85th anniversary of the establishment of the Shanghai Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
