Pudong launches a special action on school food safety supervision to ensure the "safety on the tip of the tongue" of teachers and students
In order to strengthen campus food safety supervision, prevent and control the occurrence of food safety accidents, Pudong recently launched a special action on pre school food safety supervision for all types of schools in the district. Through regulatory inspections, practical services, publicity and training, and other forms, efforts are made to build a campus food safety "firewall" to ensure the "safety on the tip of the tongue" of teachers and students in the district.
The responsibility for campus food safety is heavier than Mount Tai. In preparation for the start of autumn 2023, Pudong has conducted a comprehensive inspection of 27 colleges and universities, 52 university canteens, 1069 various primary and secondary school canteens, as well as contracted operating enterprises and off campus catering in the entire region.
Recently, law enforcement officers from Jinqiao Office of Pudong Market Supervision Bureau walked into the kitchen of Yongning Primary School in Jianping and conducted inspections using a "look, ask, and check" approach. The focus was on checking whether the environment of the food processing site was hygienic, whether the food processing and storage conditions met the requirements, whether the health status of personnel was good, whether the food sample retention process was standardized, and whether the food raw material procurement ledger was fully recorded. During the inspection process, law enforcement personnel conducted rapid food testing on the oil and noodles used in the cafeteria on site, and tested the peroxide value of oil products and the boric acid content index of noodles. The test results were all qualified. Law enforcement officers also guide practitioners to operate in a standardized manner, guide campus leaders and food safety officers to effectively fulfill their respective responsibilities, and promptly investigate and dispose of food safety hazards. Urge food operators to firmly establish a "safety first" awareness and strictly implement food safety requirements.
In order to prevent food safety accidents during student military training, in mid to late August, Pudong will strengthen supervision over the food supply situation of 42 military training schools in the entire region. At the same time, it will increase supervision over military training schools, supermarkets, snack shops, and catering service units around the campus to comprehensively ensure food safety for students during military training.

The relevant person in charge of Chuansha Institute of Pudong Market Supervision Bureau introduced: "On the one hand, we have inspected and improved the system of certificate and ticket collection, purchase inspection in the school cafeteria, and carried out strict supervision on the shelf life of food processing materials and the hygiene condition in the kitchen. On the other hand, we have carried out anti food waste propaganda for students on campus to enhance their awareness of anti waste."
It is reported that in the next step, the Pudong Market Supervision Bureau will continue to carry out food safety publicity, strengthen the main responsibility of school food safety through "online+offline" training, guide schools to continuously improve the campus food safety management organizational system, continuously improve "daily control, weekly inspection, monthly scheduling" and other institutional measures, and maintain the operating environment of the campus food market.
