This spring, Li Qiong and her classmates experienced a bit of relaxation while busy job hunting. The 2023 Henan Province Medical and Health Vocational and Technical College Graduates Employment Bidirectional Choice Negotiation Conference adopted the form of a group of employers to recruit at Xinxiang Medical College for the first time. More than 600 local and nationwide units in Xinxiang competed to recruit talents. "It's great to embrace a provincial-level tertiary hospital without leaving the campus," said Li Qiong, a graduate student at the first clinical college of the university in 2020.
There are 12 universities in Xinxiang City, with over 50000 graduates annually. How to keep graduates in the local area for smooth employment, secure work, and support high-quality development? The Xinxiang Municipal Party Committee and Government have taken a strategic approach to stabilizing employment, established talent strategic alliances with local universities, strengthened cooperation between schools and enterprises, optimized and upgraded the "1+13" package of talent retention and attraction policies, and provided comprehensive services for graduates.
As the only independent provincial undergraduate institution of Western medicine in Henan Province, Xinxiang Medical College has established an innovation and entrepreneurship mentor pool with 232 mentors. It undertakes job seeking ability training for students from 17 universities in northern Henan, and implements the "top leader" of the school and college to lead teams in market visits, enterprise visits, and job development. Since the beginning of this year, it has visited 234 employers and opened up 1773 new positions.
"Employment is the greatest livelihood and also a major issue for universities," Professor Ren Wenjie, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Xinxiang Medical College, told reporters that through the construction of a "modular" innovation and entrepreneurship curriculum system, strengthening policy promotion, guiding a group of graduates to root in grassroots medical institutions, and fully unleashing the wisdom and vitality of "new doctors".
There are weekly recruitment, monthly activities, and constant services. The Xinxiang Talent Exchange Service Center has partnered with various universities to hold 82 online and offline job fairs, serving 8955 enterprises. It has released 289806 job demands and achieved employment intentions of 45962 people.
With a good environment, hard measures, and practical policies, Xinxiang City has built a thousand acre talent community this year. Among the 22 buildings, 16 have been topped out. The project implements integrated construction of housing, commerce, education, and medicine, providing a platform and a good nest for various talents. The municipal organization department has collaborated with various regions to establish 35 youth talent stations with 3000 available beds.
In recent years, Xinxiang City has strived for and distributed a total of 222 million yuan in job stability subsidies, helping 15600 secondary enterprises stabilize 522800 job positions, and promoting employment through entrepreneurship.
