At the meeting, Fatima Kukeyeva, a professor of international relations at Kazakhstan National University, said that soft power is the key factor to promote the "the Belt and Road" initiative to take root in countries along the Belt and Road.
Kukyeva stated that China is one of the main partners of communication among Central Asian countries. The cooperation between China and Central Asian countries is of strategic significance at the geopolitical and geo economic levels in the "the Belt and Road" initiative. However, it must be noted that although the countries along the "the Belt and Road" are the beneficiaries of the initiative related projects, the barriers of interregional culture still exist.

Kukeyeva said that as far as the scale of the "the Belt and Road" initiative is concerned, it needs support not only from the governments of participating countries, but also from local people. She further pointed out that soft power is the key factor to promote the "the Belt and Road" initiative to take root in countries along the Belt and Road. As a country and an important region along the "the Belt and Road" initiative, Central Asian countries need to include issues such as expanding people to people and cultural exchanges and cooperation and building civil bridges on the agenda.
