Promoting consumption is the key to current recovery and expansion of demand. In Beijing, the 4th "August 8th" Beijing Sports Consumption Festival and the Beijing Tianjin Hebei Sports Consumption Festival have been launched. To promote the development of new energy vehicles in rural areas, Zhejiang proposes to build a total of more than 2.3 million charging stations and no less than 900000 rural areas by 2025, achieving full coverage of public charging stations in counties and townships. This summer, many regions have organized various consumption seasons and distributed various consumption vouchers to boost consumption.
Consumption is the fundamental force driving economic growth. In July, catering revenue increased by 15.8% year-on-year, sales of new energy vehicles increased by 31.6% year-on-year, and passenger transportation volume of civil aviation increased by 83.7% year-on-year. It should also be noted that the total retail sales of consumer goods in society have slightly decreased compared to the previous month, and the growth momentum of some consumer categories is still unstable. In some areas, the consumer experience and perception are not good. There are over 1.4 billion people in our country, and the overall consumption level is still not high, with a lot of room for improvement. Looking towards the future, we will focus on expanding domestic demand and consolidating the foundation for economic recovery. We must leverage the fundamental role of consumption in driving economic growth, implement the Measures for Restoring and Expanding Consumption, and better meet the needs of the people for a better life. On the one hand, it is necessary to expand consumption by increasing household income and driving effective supply through terminal demand. On the other hand, it is necessary to enrich consumption promotion policies, improve the system and mechanism of consumption promotion, effectively boost bulk consumption of automobiles, electronic products, home furnishings, and promote service consumption such as sports and leisure, cultural tourism, etc.
Expanding consumption is fundamentally about promoting employment, improving social security, optimizing income distribution structure, expanding middle-income groups, and enhancing consumption capacity by increasing household income. In the first half of this year, the per capita disposable income of residents in China was 19672 yuan, a year-on-year actual increase of 5.8%. With the precise and effective implementation of macroeconomic regulation, the enormous development potential of China's economy will be further unleashed, and the employment, income level, and consumption ability of residents will also be further improved. The "Measures" released at the end of July aim to improve the consumption of home decoration, home furnishings, and electronic products, fully implement the paid leave system, vigorously develop rural tourism, promote green consumption, and improve support policies for consumer infrastructure construction and strengthen financial support for the consumption sector. Specific policies aim to balance the long and short, be practical and effective. To better stabilize the consumption base and stimulate more endogenous driving forces, we must implement the measures with a nail in the nail spirit, ensure their implementation and effectiveness, establish and improve a long-term mechanism for expanding household consumption.
Consumption is directly related to economic development and improvement of people's livelihoods. We should combine expanding consumption with improving people's quality of life, adapt to the actual needs of different income groups, and increase residents' willingness to consume with high-quality supply. In the Measures, optimizing the management of car purchase and use, supporting rigid and improved housing demand, promoting consumption of cultural and sports exhibitions, and improving health service consumption are all related to people's livelihood. Continuously improving people's livelihoods through expanding consumption can not only effectively solve the worries of the masses, but also stimulate new economic growth points. By achieving a virtuous cycle of expanding consumption and improving people's livelihoods, we can continuously enhance people's well-being and create more effective demand for economic development.
"Night" shows vitality. In the first half of the year, the consumption of cultural and tourism at night in Guangdong exceeded that during the day, accounting for 61.62% of the total consumption of astronomical tourism; "Green" adds momentum. During this year's "618" promotion, green intelligent products attracted attention, and the transaction volume of green intelligent appliances such as energy-saving air conditioners and ultra-thin embedded refrigerators increased significantly year-on-year... In the first half of the year, the contribution rate of final consumer spending to economic growth reached 77.2%, significantly higher than last year. In the second half of the year, favorable conditions for restoring and expanding consumption growth will continue to converge. Grasping the timing and trend of development, playing a "combination punch" to promote consumption, firmly grasping the basic point of benefiting the people, comprehensively innovating and improving quality, breaking through various obstacles and difficulties, ensuring that residents have stable income and can consume, worry free consumption, and environmental optimization willingness to consume, we will definitely achieve new results in promoting high-quality development with the new atmosphere and new achievements, and strive to complete the annual target tasks.
