Olympic champion Chen Yanqing has recently taken on a new position. According to the official website of Suzhou Women's Federation, Chen Yanqing has been appointed as a member of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of Suzhou Women's Federation. According to the appointment and removal notice released on the official website of Suzhou Municipal Government on August 18th, Chen Yanqing has been relieved of her position as Deputy Director of the Municipal Sports Bureau.
According to the data, Chen Yanqing was born in 1979 in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province and is a renowned weightlifter in China. She was selected for the Jiangsu weightlifting team in 1994, and joined the national weightlifting team in 1995. In the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Chen Yanqing won consecutive gold medals in the women's weightlifting 58kg category.
In 2007, Chen Yanqing was appointed as the Deputy Director and Party Member of Suzhou Sports Bureau.
