On July 31st, continuous heavy rainfall in Beijing caused a sharp rise in the water level of the Yongding River, and flood discharge caused the collapse of the fourth span of the Fengtai Xiaoqing River Bridge from west to east.
According to the Propaganda Department of Fengtai District Committee in Beijing, after preliminary verification, the collapse of the Xiaoqinghe Bridge caused five cars parked on the bridge to fall into the water. After on-site visits, it is preliminarily determined that there is no involvement of personnel falling into the water. The relevant department is currently searching for the car owner to further verify the relevant situation.

According to the Flood Control Office of Fengtai District, Beijing, due to the diversion of the Yongding River, the Xiaoqing River Bridge on the west side of Lugou Bridge has collapsed in some parts. The district flood control office reminds that the Yongding River is currently undergoing floods, and citizens must stay away from the river to ensure safety.
According to a reporter from the headquarters, it has been preliminarily determined that the collapse of Xiaoqinghe Bridge in Fengtai District, Beijing was caused by heavy rainfall, which led to a surge in the Yongding River water. After the floodgates were opened to discharge water, the water flow was fierce during the diversion process, resulting in the collapse of the fourth span of Xiaoqinghe Bridge.
After the entire bridge was washed away, some vehicles on the bridge were unfortunately washed into the flood. According to the previous screen, some vehicles that were washed away still have their headlights on, but further understanding is still being conducted on whether there are people on board and the situation of casualties on site.
